My struggle with Psoriasis
I don't know if everyone is aware, but last August I came down with a terrible case of strep throat. I went on Antibiotics, but it came back. Again, antibiotics, and it came back. This happened four times until it finally went away. Around my second cycle with strep, I started developing red dots all over my body. Then the dots got bigger and started raising off my skin. Then the spots began to scale over and my skin was shedding like crazy. These spots covered 90% of my body, including my face and scalp. I had no idea what was going on. I kept going to doctors to find out what it was and no one knew for sure. After some research on the web and finally finding a good dermatologist, it was determined that I had been diagnosed with psoriasis, a disease which affects the skin and joints. This has been a huge battle for me as I have tried to suppress the lesions on my body and cope with the knowledge that this will be with me for the rest of my life, or at least until a cure is found. I encourage everyone to do some research on the disease and go to www.psoriasis.org and donate money to the Psoriasis Foundation to help find a cure. Appx. 7.5 million Americans suffer from this life long disease and currently there is no federal money to help with a cure. A cure for me would mean the world and so does advocacy for the millions suffering. Please try and understand this disease and know that it is not contagious. You never know, one day, you could develop it too. If you have any questions, please ask. I am happy to teach people about this condition.

Maui... VACATION!!!!
Hey everyone!! So I am officially taking my first ever vacation.... by first ever, I mean, the first time that I have vacation time from work and actually go somewhere by myself. I am having a great time! I asked my good friend Omar if he wanted to come with me, and he did!! Other than being sick (having an ear infection in both ears, a sinus infection, and a soar throat!!) I am enjoying myself. My grandma Arlene has a time share here and this year no one is using it. It just so happened that my vacation fell on the week she has it this year so she let me use it!!! So, free flight to Maui, free place to stay, free sun.... how could i turn it down?? We flew in on Tuesday in First Class, go the rental car (only $90 for the whole week!), and drove to the condo. Its right on the beach and the Lanai is over looking the pool and the ocean. How fun!! I will post pictures from the trip. Don't be jealous everyone... talk soon.

Good Trip... Cold Weather
Ok, listen to this one... I was speaking with elJimbo on the phone the other day and I was saying how the Crew Schedulers haven't called me to work, then I got a beep and they called me for an assignment. I wrote it down, and here is what I "worked" the last three days. (Before I go on, I must add that working for United is sooooooo hard!! just kidding :) I love it...) I was to deadhead on Delta Airlines all-nighter flight from LAX to Orlando and work from Orlando to Chicago. I had a 24 hour layover in Chicago and got to stay downtown at the beautiful Hilton Palmer House Hotel. Then, the next day I was to deadhead home to LAX. SO basically I was on three flights, but only worked on one, and got paid for the three!!! Awesome, huh??? It was so fun, but it was freezing in Chicago. One other note, after watching tonight's debate, I really really really dislike John McCain so much more than I ever have!! Go Mitt!

Blogging... sounds like a sport, and I don't like sports!
Hi everybody!! Well, now that blogging is the new national sport and it seems like everyone is doing it these days, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately I don't have any cute children or pets to put on my page, but I do have a lot of stories from the friendly, or not so friendly skies. So I will keep everyone abreast of my encounters at 36,000 feet. So here goes, my new blog, "The Adventures of Me!!"
